Planning and Fire approval is way too slow and variable. NIMBYism has driven construction materials farther and farther from the end market which only increases the cost to the end consumer. We need County coordination to preserve industrial space. We already pay some of the highest cost for essential construction materials in the country and we cannot let it get worse.
County Connection is a vital resource that is not economically sustainable today because ridership is too low and costs are too high. It could be more effective if it were integrated better with our schools and the BART station.
